Chicago Launch Rentals

May 1 to Memorial Day

  • Saturday, Sunday & Memorial Day 9:00-6:00
  • Friday 1:00-6:00

After Memorial Day, the Chicago launch will be closed due to the construction of a boathouse in Clark Park.  We hope to return in 2013.

  • Moonlight Dinners will move to the Lagoons, where they'll be offered as Sunset Dinners.
  • Cardio Kayak classes will move to the Chinatown launch.
  • Pedal & Paddle trips can be organized by request.

All rental trips are round-trips.

  • We send beginners north from the Chicago launch so that the current will help bring you back.

  Prices

  • canoes or single kayaks $15/hr.
  • tandem kayaks $20/hr
  • day rate is equal to 4 hours (after 4 hours we stop charging)
  • River Rambler Club - four trips and the fifth is free (2 hours)  

Reservations not required

  • Groups or people coming at peak hours can ask us to reserve boats by e-mail a day in advance, or by phone, but no reservation is required.  Just come paddle.
  • In a reservation, include which launch, boats desired, time and day you're coming, roughly how long you'll be on the water, and a phone number.
